What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?
“We are trying to rid you of body consciousness. Are you willing to cooperate?”
Am I ready to give that up entirely? I still like feeling in the body. The senses are still active. I am not yet above the feelings of the body, even at the same time as I adore touching the hem of our Divine Father. I guess I’ve been trying, as the old saying goes, ‘To have my cake and eat it, too.’
“Yes, but the problem is, and has ever been, that the energy you are trying to use at one end of your being IS the exact same energy that you’ve been burning up at the other end. You’re burning your candle at both ends! And it doesn’t work out well in the end. If you expect to have all of a God-experience, you have to stop burning so much of your fuel to feed the body senses. You need that same fuel to propel you to God. You will only go so far if your body is always holding you back from your attempts to lift yourself into God’s realms. You must lift your consciousness. But if you keep letting awareness of senses pull you back to earth, you’ll never have the chance to experience all that awaits you in the Divine.”

Hey David, I got disconnected from accessing comments to my weekly blog, and just now relearned how to find them. Sorry for the delayed response. So glad that you are one of the people who find these occasional musings from my meditation journals interesting. For 40 years I had been writing in my journals–not daily, but many times each month–but never felt confident enough that what was coming through might be useful for others. It’s been a fun project for the past few years, after Asha told me these daily pages ought to be shared more with people. Now more than ever… Seven months away from my “home” center here at Ananda Palo Alto has given me even more incentive to dive deeper in my sadhana efforts. Mumbai was great, but “there’s no place like home!”

Dearest Shanti, Once again, I lost track of how to reply to the comments on this blog. Whew! Sorry about the delay, again. Isn’t it lovely that we keep getting re-inspired to “go further into God’s realm!” There is so often some aspect of maya that conspires to distract us. But then, once again, we get re-motivated to access further inside to where the Divine awaits us. During this latest seven months away in Assisi and Mumbai, it was teaching others the Aum Technique in the Discipleship series that revealed more than I’d ever experienced before. 40 years, and you’d think I would have gained whatever there was to get from the bloody technique, but no! There was more. I guess that’s part of the “every new joy” to which Master keeps reminding us to open ourselves…See you in just a few days!
