Dear Divine Ma,
What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?
“It’s about loyalty. Individual will vs. loyalty. How often do you go off on your own desires rather than trying to tune in to what your organization’s leaders are teaching? Sure, the organization is there to show beginners a right way to move forward on the path. And the guru states that his only purpose is to show you how to find God, so that God Himself can become your leader and guide. So yes, God is the true guru. But too often you ignore your leaders, and then wait weeks or more even to tune into the guidance you hear from the Divine. I think you feel you can have it both ways. But that means you are not only ignoring your leaders, but even ignoring God. Which leaves who in charge exactly? Yes, you! Not a good plan, right? You’ve got to follow someone other than just your own egoic desires. There’s no fooling anybody on this one. God reads the heart. Sure, you get some lovely results in meditations these days. But remember how Gyanamata put it, your spiritual progress is measured best ‘not by the light that surrounds one when he meditates or by the visions he has of saints, but by what he is able to endure in the hard, cold light of day!’”
Very well written. Just what I needed to hear.
Yes, Satish, if we aren’t tuning into some true Source regularly, how can we expect to stay in tune? I missed seeing your response months ago. Sorry about that…
Barry beautiful and important message . Thank you for sharing this reminder. The ego does such a great job of helping us believe we know the way when always turning into the divine in all its various forms is actually they only way to Truth.
AUM and Prem
Hey, dear friend, Lahari and I lost track of how to access these comments, so I just today found that you had responded to this blog long ago. So sorry. Divine Mother gave us a pertinent one on this blog, didn’t She? Yes, if we aren’t tuning into some true Source regularly, how can we expect to stay in tune? So right. “The only way to Truth IS tuning into the Divine in all its various forms.” Including tuning our teachers who themselves are tuning into the Divine the best they can. We better be willing to lean on each other. That way we are way less likely to wander off the Path. Thanks for the needed reminder…
