Dear Divine Ma,

What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?

“Stick-to-it-iveness. Once you decide to do something, do it—until it’s done. There are so many projects you KNOW about, but so seldom do you DO them. It’s become standard for you to think, ‘Well, I accomplished one big task today. That’s enough.’ But if more is waiting to be done, and it NEEDS to be done, is it really dharmic to let yourself ‘off the hook’ so quickly? Sure, it’s good to take the foot off the gas pedal once in a while, so you don’t continue getting a tight stomach or high blood pressure. But EVERY day? What can one accomplish if you’re constantly saying to yourself, ‘That’s enough.’ Enough is when you’ve accomplished God’s will. To do less is to waste an incarnation. Sure, do your best—then drop the guilt. But don’t use that as an excuse for laziness!”
