Dear Divine Ma,
What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?
“It’s about how you respond to other people’s troubles. Don’t you care when others are in trouble? Your compassion seems weak. What is it you feel when others have tapasyas they’re going through?”
Well, I want them to feel the support of being loved. I want them to know that they’re not alone with their difficulties. I want them to know that there are others who care and empathize with what they’re going through.
“Sure, but don’t you actually care? I mean, don’t you feel any tinge of concern about what they’re going through?”
Maybe not. I feel that the world is a just place—as long as the bad things are happening to somebody else.
“Yay, but when it happens to you it’s a different ball game, right?”
I’m afraid that might be so.
“Do you think Jesus reacted this way to the maladies that befell his disciples?”
I suspect he both cared and tried his utmost to help them toward inner peace about it.
“Yes, he cared. He wanted each and every person to feel whole!”
