Dear Divine Ma,
What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?
“You have a lot of ego still left to slough off.”
Of course, I’m still in this body. Doesn’t Master say the ego is merely the soul attached to the body? Once I’m no longer in this body, ego will be gone, right?
“Well, not exactly. You will regain the same amount of ego in your next incarnation that you have not yet shed in your past incarnation. That’s the way it works.”
Oh, so it’s my responsibility to let this ego go before I die. I can’t just wait for it to get lost by dying.
“That’s right. So, what are YOU going to do consciously to shed this albatross you literally have around your neck?”
Well, more sadhana—more intentional sadhana where I’m actively aiming to take myself in the direction of my Self. I can’t take it for granted any longer that merely showing up for a short meditation is enough to make spiritual progress. I’ve got to start making each next meditation intentional—intending to take me to God’s realm in bliss.
Thank you!
Lahari and I have been traveling on our way to India, and we lost access to these comments. I’m so glad you are tuning in to this brief weekly blog. It does behoove us to take our sadhanas more seriously, especially as we notice we’re getting closer to the end than to the beginning of our lives. “Make hay while the sun shines” my grandparents used to advise. It’s still useful advice, even about our sadhana. Instead of being wishy-washy about our kriyas, are we truly intending to make contact with God? Master would approve…
Beautiful
Lahari and I have been traveling, slower than we would like, on our way to do seva in Mumbai. Sorry we lost track of your these comments. The events with Jyotish and Devi in Pune looked so uplifting. And the new Ananda Sangha center shone with energy and love. Divine Mother makes a good point. Instead of being wishy-washy about our kriyas, is our intention truly to make contact with God each time we sit for sadhana? Master would approve of this attitude…
