Dear Divine Ma,
What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?
“It’s about punctuality. You never seem to leave enough time for what needs to be done. Why is that? You always seem to think that what’s happening right now is more important than the things to which you had previously committed. But when you committed to it, you thought they, too, were important. Why give them less priority than what you want to do right now?”
Well, maybe it’s merely attachment to the senses.
“You think? Of course, it is. There is never any reason to delay other than your preferences and wants—the likes and attachments taught in yogic philosophy. You want what you want! Isn’t it as simple as that? And you want it right now, consequences be damned. It’s really a simple case of selfishness. Willpower is the spiritual remedy to selfishness, at least when used to do things one ought to do.”
Ya, those ‘oughts’ have always been tricky for me!
