Dear Divine Ma,

What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?

How much, how often, and how consistently am I willing to surrender my own egoic likes and dislikes—my desires—in favor of Her requests, Her guidance, the intuitions that are put into my consciousness?  When I do what She says, life works. When I do what I desire, life is shaky and even scary. Doing what She advises is often challenging, is often hard, is often beyond what would be easy to do. Let’s face it, it’s usually not what I would want to do. But if I do it, even if I do it gradually over time, it always works out for the best. That, I believe, is what’s meant by surrendering to the will of the guru, or surrendering to God’s will.

“If you can listen within, and really get what the guru, Master, Divine Mother (isn’t that what you call your Source Within?) is asking of you, and then do what that Source is asking you to do, that is surrendering to God and guru’s will.”
And that, to me, is the pinnacle of discipleship. I am still very much practicing that art, of improving my receptivity in terms of this kind of discipleship. I am still a work in progress. But this, to me, is a goal worth perfecting. And it’s the goal to which I am very much dedicated in this lifetime.
