Dear Divine Ma,
What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?
“You are still majorly attached to your body.”
Isn’t that exactly what Master said the ego was? So, surprise, surprise… I still have an ego.
“True, but a yogi is meant to try to overcome the ego. Try to let it slip away due to lack of attention or lack of energy put into that lesser part of ourselves.”
Yes, it’s true. When we finally see Divine Mother, we are supposed to be able to give the ego—the soul attached to the body—up. But have I seen God? Have I found God? That’s what’s supposed to make all this other stuff—all this delusion—go away. How do I know, without a shadow of a doubt, when I have found God?
“As Swami Sri Yukteswar said to your guru, ‘Did you expect God to look like a man in the clouds wearing a long white beard?’ “
No, but at least I thought it would be obvious that what we found would be so compelling that who could doubt?
“Well, why do you doubt? Other than the fact that you aren’t quite ready to give up the ego, so you are not quite ready to surrender yourself completely to God!”
