Dear Divine Ma,
What Do You Want Me to Learn Today?
“Today’s lesson is about tapasya. If you expect to grow spiritually in this lifetime—I mean evolve into a better human being than you came into this world—then you’re going to have to endure cutting some habits, attitudes, and traits out of your personality. There are actions in your current life that must go. Otherwise, you will leave this lifetime with all the same bad traits you brought in from prior lives. Life is a school, and we are meant to learn and grow from the experiences here. The point is not merely to enjoy with our senses, but to grow with our soul. And for that, you often need to overcome the discomfort of having to discipline yourself. Do with less now, so that you can inherit more later. Like the saint in the AY who taught, ‘The true renunciates are those who give up a few paltry rupees on earth to receive a Heavenly inheritance.’ That’s how we grow into the person we were meant to be.”
